Mary Ann Evans

Funeral services were held on June 18, 2026, at Pen Oak M.B. Church, Silver Creek, for Mary Ann Evans, 65, of Prentiss, who passed away on June 8 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Robert L. Barnes officiated, with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is the daughter of Johnnie May Burnes Martin and the late Johnny Burnes. She worked in the janitorial and sanitation industry.

Mrs. Evans enjoyed crafting, thrifting, couponing, and she formed a women’s group: Women of Worth.

She is survived by her mother, Johnnie Mae Martin; children, Eric G. Evans, Harry G. Evans Jr., Denna M. Evans, and Devario Evans; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Denna R. Flores; and many other relatives and friends.
