Alphonso Lydell Mingo

Funeral services were held on May 16, 2026, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel, Prentiss, for Alphonso Lydell Mingo, 51, of Silver Creek, who passed away on May 9 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Vivian Brown-Toussaint officiated, with interment following at Wheeler Cemetery, Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of Yvon Williams Mingo and the late Bobby Ray Mingo.

Mr. Mingo was a supervisor at Howard Industries in Mendenhall. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, classic car, trail ride, concerts, and was the life of the party. He especially loved taking care of his mother and his family.

He is survived by his mother, Yvon W. Mingo, of Silver Creek; son, Alphonso Mingo Jr., of Bassfield; grandson, Zayden Mingo; sisters, Aja Mingo Horton, of Silver Creek; LaShonda Parker, of Snellville, Ga.; Yashica Peters, of Bassfield; Demetris Williams, of Petal; grandmother, Willie Mae Payton, of Cheraw; and many other relatives and friends.
