Howard J. Butler

Funeral services were held on Dec. 6, 2025, at Spring Hill M.B. Church, Silver Creek, for Howard J. Butler, 74, of Silver Creek, who passed away o, Nov. 19 at Marion General Hospital, Columbia. Rev. Roy Thompson officiated, with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late Robert and Gary Myers Butler. He was a member of Spring Hill M.B. Church, Silver Creek.

Mr. Butler was a power lines foreman. He enjoyed basketball and was an avid fan of the L.A. Lakers and the San Francisco 49ers.

He is survived by his son, Rontario Butler, of Petal; daughter, Victoria Vasquez; grandsons, Damionh Jones, of Hattiesburg, and Amari Butler, of Petal; sisters, Arvellia Williams, of Prentiss; Mable Mitchell, Bessie Durrah, and Essie Sacks, all of Azusa, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
