Joseph Benjamin Davis Sr.
Joseph Benjamin Davis Sr., 95 of Silver Creek, passed away on Jan. 19, 2025, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. He was born on May 5, 1929, in Lawrence County.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Silver Creek. Bro. Chris Turnage will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Davis loved playing and singing country music and loved telling people about Jesus Christ. If you were around him for long, you were going to hear about the Gospel. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years as an aircraft mechanic. Mr. Davis was an owner and operator for many years in the transportation industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hartzog Davis; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Little, of New Hebron; father, Charlie Estes Davis; mother, Lessie Herrington Davis; brothers, Charlie Ray Davis, and Roy Davis; sisters, Margaret Adams, Patsy Turnage, and LaBruce Davis; and granddaughters, Stacie Bradford, and Jessica Morris.
Survivors include his sons, Joe Davis Jr., Wade Davis, and Wesley Davis; daughters, Ramona Davis Baron, Wanda Davis Bradford, and Lisa Davis Surdam; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family.
