Beulah Yvonne Landrum Johns

Beulah Yvonne Landrum Johns, 85, of Monticello, passed away Oct. 25, 2023, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Yvonne was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Stringer to William C. and Lola Mae Clark Hill.

A funeral service was held Oct. 27 at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, with graveside following the church cemetery. Bro. Lee Mathis officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Yvonne married James Richard Landrum April 21, 1957. To this union was born three children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Her life revolved around family and church, and she enjoyed many happy years until James’ passing in 2002.

Yvonne retired from the Mississippi Employment Agency in Monticello. After retirement, she enjoyed working many years at Millane’s Gift Shop, where she was well loved. She was an active member of Carmel Baptist Church, where she taught adult Sunday school for many years.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of eight years, Lewis Wayland Johns, of Monticello; children, Donnia Harvey, of Monticello, Dyan Todd (Tommy), of Jayess; and James Brent Landrum, also of Monticello; grandchildren, Evan Todd (Candace), Ashley Bull (Micah), Will Todd, Matthew Harvey, Kystal Dyess (Greg), Austin Landrum; great-grandchildren, Zeke Todd, Lola Todd, Lizzy Todd, Brody Bull, Molly Bull, Grady McNeese, Jaxx McNeese, and Brelynn McNeese; and one brother, William S. (Bill) Hill. of Stringer.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 45 years, James R. Landrum.
