Frederick Wendell Dawson

Funeral services were held April 1, 2023, at Springhill M. B. Church, Silver Creek, for Frederick Wendell Dawson, 65, who passed away March 26 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Johnson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Dawson was the son of the late Micker G. Williams and Christine Dawson Norwell. He was a member of Springhill M. B. Church, where he served on the usher board, trustee, member of Sunday school, and bus driver. He was a retired truck driver, enjoyed cooking, football, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Annessia Dawson; daughter, Chiquita Franklin, Arlington, Texas; sons, Frederick Laron Dawson, Dallas, Texas; Cameron James Butler, Hattiesburg; sisters, Mary Helen Russell, Hattiesburg; Marjorie Durr, Willie Rea McDonald, Susie (Darnell) Moore, Mendenhall; Elizabeth Lancaster, Jackson; Renita Brinson, Jonesboro, Ga.; Bonita S. Clark, Dallas, Texas; brothers, Larry (Felisa) Williams, Charles and Johnny (Elaine) Franklin, Monticello; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
