Ray K. Hammond

Funeral services were held Dec. 17, 2022, at New Zion Baptist Church, Oakvale, for Ray K. Hammond, 62, who passed away Dec. 11 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, . Rev. Korey Langston officiated, with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hammond was born to the late Kelly and Mary Hammond. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, Oakvale. Mr. Hammond worked offshore. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, music, cars, and horses.
Ray is survived by his wife, Cecilia Hammond, Oakvale; sons, Quadarius Hammond, Prentiss; Kendrick (Constance) Parkman, Hattiesburg; Fredrick (Shannon) Parkman, Houston, Texas; daughters, Sharon (Michael) Lyles, Brookhaven; LaTashia Parkman, Hattiesburg; brothers, Billy (Carry) Hammond, Oakvale; Rommia Hammond, Oakvale; sisters, Katie (Gary) Jackson; Argie (Bruce) Daniels; and Margie (Will) Brown, all of Prentiss; Tracey Dantzler and Dorothy Jefferson, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
