Ginger “Cookie” Kay Becton

Ginger “Cookie” Kay Becton, 66, of Guyton, Ga., passed away Dec. 24, 2021, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ethan Conner and Ann Lovella Copeland Conner.
“Cookie” was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek and attended Compassion Christian Church in Savannah, Ga. She was a homemaker and loved her family. She enjoyed baking, painting. and reading.
She was preceded in death by two children, Crystal Hartzog and Sean Hartzog; a brother, Danny Conner; and an aunt, Ginger Dixon.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Louis Becton; children, Denis “Denny” Hartzog (Crystal), of Silver Creek; Jacob Hartzog, of Port Wenthworth, Ga.;, and Skyler Austin (Joseph), of Rincon, Ga.; five grandchildren, Xan, Charleen Kay, Ash, Elizabeth and Conner; a sister, Cindy Zettler (Jimmy), of Springfield, Ga. “Cookie” is also survived by the father of her children, Denis Hartzog Sr., of Silver Creek; and her nephews, Jimmy, John, and Christopher Conner.
A gathering was held at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel on Dec. 29.
A memorial service was held Jan. 1, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery in Silver Creek, with Rev. Nicky Martin officiating. Saulters Moore Funeral Home, Prentiss, handled the arrangements.
