Donald D. Wilson
Donald D. Wilson, 68, died Dec. 25, 2021, at his residence in New Hebron, after a battle with cancer. Donny was born June 20, 1953, in Patuxent River, Md., to Everett Lee and Oddis Dickens Wilson.
Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at Wanilla Baptist Church, with graveside services following in Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. Eddie Myers officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
Donny enjoyed spending time and engaging in activities with his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. He worked several years as an engineer with Mississippi Power and Light Company in Jackson before becoming a chicken and cattle farmer in New Hebron and Oma. He was a graduate of Monticello High School and Mississippi State University. He was widely known as a great Pearl River fisherman, an excellent cook, and an excellent vegetable gardener. He was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church and previously attended Wanilla Baptist Church.
Donny was kind and generous. He took on the tough jobs and thought of others before himself. He enjoyed raising cattle, and he was particularly fond of his loyal companion–his dog, Chipper. Donny will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
Donny is survived by older brother, Jerry (Connie); twin brother, Ronny (Paula); older sister, Judy Marlow (Frank); and younger sister, Tracy Little (Mike).
Donny was preceded in death by his parents.
