Ruth Hardison

Services for Ruth Gaskins Hardison, 71, of Monticello, were held Nov. 15, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello, with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family handled the arrangements.
She passed away at her home on Nov. 12.
Ruth was born April 17, 1950, to Ronnie Gaskins and Mamie Jane Ross in Kinston, N.C. Ruth was a graduate of Plymouth High School. On Oct. 31, 1966, Ruth met Asa Hardison at a Halloween dance at Jamesville High School. They were married on Dec. 29, 1970. Ruth and Asa went on to have two children, Casey Hardison-Pevey and Jamie Hardison. Throughout her life, she was a full-time mother and wife.
Ruth was known by all as a confidant, advisor, and friend. Ruth loved music, reading, and, above all, her family. She especially loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Sydney and Abbey Pevey. It was a comfort knowing she was in the world. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
