Shane loved quietly but fierce. He was the sweetest soul. There is no doubt his passion was found on the ballfield. From playing little league at The Mac with his brother and lifelong friends to taking the mound at Jimmie Davis Park, while in high school, Shane was at home on the baseball diamond. Shane was in his element on the mound and pitched the first no hit shutout in Lawrence County High School baseball history. He was a man of few words and was not one to speak of himself but prided himself in coaching and growing the countless boys and young men in the game that he loved so much. Many of the boys he grew to love, long after they left the ballfield, and they loved him just the same. He was always thrilled to see them thriving, on and off the field, even years later. As much as he loved the baseball diamond, there was one thing in this world he loved more, and that was his family. His children were his pride and joy, as he would light up every time he spoke of each of them. Shane came to know the Lord as a young man. Through all of the curve balls of life, Shane clung to his faith. One thing he was not silent about was the miracles God had blessed him with. Shane loved the Lord, and we find peace and comfort that he is now in Heaven with the loved ones that have gone on before him. Pitch that perfect game in the pearly skies, Shane. Just save us a seat in the stands.
He is survived by his parents, Robert Bullock Jr. (Patsy), of Jayess, and Sandra King (Eddie), of Topeka; and by a loving wife of 20 years, Katie Wilson, and their children, Bryce Bullock, Brantley Bullock, and AnnaClaire Bullock. He also leaves behind his siblings Shannon Bullock (Amanda), Shelly King, Jessica Laird (Luke), and Mark Reid (Jessica); as well as a special aunt, Sheila Cothern.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Grace Bullock, Johnnie Bullock, Dulith and Billye Cothern, Earl and Billy Faye King, Dimple Mitchell (Mike), and Purvis Brister.
