Coy U. Reynolds Sr.

Coy U. Reynolds Sr., 84, of Sontag, passed away April 21, 2021, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Coy was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Ruth to Ulysses and Dezarie Anglin Reynolds.
A funeral service was held April 24 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag, with graveside services following in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Shane Mason and Bro. Lance Martin officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Coy proudly served his country in the United States Army. Coy was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a kind-hearted man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, RV camping, and riding his grandchildren on the four-wheeler. Coy was well-traveled, having worked in the oilfield industry in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Singapore, Malta, and Argentina. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag. He was also a member of the Sontag Hunting Club and the Sontag Community Center. Coy will be missed by everyone.
Coy is survived by his children, Deborah Eubanks (Delton), Coy “Hambone” Reynolds (Angela), and Dezarie Fowler (Jimmy Ray Rowell), all of Sontag; his grandchildren, Quinnie Lowery (Adam), Jake Reynolds (Toni), Seth Reynolds (Sarah), Kaci Graves (Morris), Shelby Norton (Will), Brodie, and Skylar. He is also survived by his 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Reynolds (Linda), of Monticello; a sister, Judy Hammack, of Panama City, Fla.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Those preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Miriam “Sister” Reynolds; as well as one brother, Roy Reynolds; and a sister, Udell Harrell.
