Malcolm T. Blackwell

Malcolm T. Blackwell, 90, of Monticello, passed away on April 11, 2021, at his residence. Malcolm was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Lawrence County to Johnny and Cassie Lambert Blackwell.
Visitation will be held from noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 15 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with graveside services following in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tyler Bridge will officiate, with Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Malcolm proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed farming until he moved to Belle Chasse, La., where he became project engineer for Brown & Root for 27 years. After retirement, he moved back home and raised cattle on his farm in the Center community. He enjoyed being a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he became a past master. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Malcolm will be missed by everyone.
Those preceding him in death were his parents.
Malcolm is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine Smith Blackwell, of Monticello; son, Johnnie Michael Blackwell (Alice), of Monticello; daughters, Yvonne Neal (Joseph), of St. Rose, La.; Belinda Pippin (David), of Columbus; and Lisa Blackwell, of Monticello; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Glynn Blackwell and Robert Blackwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
