Mary Elizabeth Holyfield

A gathering of family and friends for Mary Elizabeth Holyfield, 76, was held Jan. 2, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth, followed by a private family service. Graveside services were held Jan. 4 at New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron. Bro. Dennis Smith officiated.
Lib died on Dec. 31, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Amory. She was born in Camden on Oct. 26, 1944, to the late Dee and Betty Berry Quinn. She was a graduate of Silver Creek High School and Mississippi College. She was a school teacher for over 30 years having taught at Natchez, Silver Creek, Monticello, and 20 of those years in the Corinth School System. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Shakespeare Club, and Kappa Kappa Iota. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed history, traveling, and being with family and friends.
Lib was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Holyfield; and brothers, Tommy and Harold Quinn.
Lib is survived by her son, William Holyfield (Nina); daughter, Jo Beth Alford (Tim); grandchildren, Peyton and Landon Holyfield, and Lauren and Emily Alford; and a brother, Don Quinn.
Pallbearers were James Self, Eddie Little, Henry Little, Tom Hurley, Johnny Palmer, Don Everett Smith, and Bill Waldon.
