Kenneth Douglas Platt
Kenneth Douglas Platt, 55, of Jayess, died peacefully in his home on Aug. 5, 2020. A funeral was held Aug. 8 at Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church.
Kenny was born on May 20, 1965, in Quitman, to Charles Douglas Platt and Evelyn Marie Platt Gilbert. He attended the University of Alabama from 1982-1983, where he proudly played football. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1984-1992. On Nov. 30, 1991, he married the love of his life, Allison Rutland Platt. Kenny served his community in many capacities as an EMT, volunteer firefighter, and first responder. He also owned and operated Dakota Log Homes, LLC for close to 15 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Douglas Platt.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Allison Rutland Platt; his children, Deanna Platt, Alexis Platt, Sydney Platt, James Stewart, and Angel Stewart; his mother, Evelyn Marie Platt Gilbert; and his siblings, Keith Gilbert, Tammy Gilbert Ivy, and Rachelle Gilbert Stewart.
