Elaine Cecelia Earls
Elaine Cecelia Earls, 78, of Old Silver Creek, passed from this life on Aug. 1, 2020. A graveside service was held Aug. 5 at Old Silver Creek Cemetery, with Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Mrs. Earls was born on Sept. 24, 1941, in New Orleans, La., to the late Lettel Joseph Gaspard and Helen Zua McDonald Gaspard. Upon completion of high school, Mrs. Earls attended The Cosmetology Institute in New Orleans and obtained her license as a cosmetologist. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Lee Edward Earls, of Wesson. They were happily married for 59 years, with four loving children. In 1966, they settled in the Old Silver Creek community, where they started a dairy farm. She worked outside of the home for a short-time as a cosmetologist before becoming a full-time homemaker.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending church activities, and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their endeavors. She had a love and a talent for cooking, sewing, and quilting. Mrs. Earls was a member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and loving husband.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Lee Jr. (Samantha), of Silver Creek; daughters, Robin Mitchell (Jeff), of Jayess; Liz Pope (John), of Meridian; Jenny Hall (James), of Silver Creek; sister, Evette Gaspard, of Millbrook, Ala.; 10 grandkids; nine great-grandkids; and a host of nieces and nephews.
