Gerri Juanita Hancock Griffith

Gerri Juanita Hancock Griffith, 51, of Jayess, made her heavenly ascend on Thursday, March 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 4, 1968, in Collins, and grew up in Mize until she was married and made her home in Monticello.
She was a very faithful and loving wife, mother, and “Mimi,” who adored her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She was also known to her family and friends as “Nene.” She always wore a contagious smile and possessed a positive attitude. As medical issues became a challenge for her, it never diminished her enthusiasm or zest for life. She was strong in her faith, knew that God would heal her, and encouraged her family and friends to do the same. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Monticello.
Surviving family members include her husband of 32 years, Jimmy Griffith, of Jayess; son, Daniel Chase Griffith, of Jayess; daughter, Amanda Rose Griffith, of Jayess; grandchildren, Bentley Franklin Griffith and Madelyn Everleigh Purvis; parents, Jerry and Debbie Hancock, of Mize, and Shirley Hisaw Beasley, of Monticello; brothers, Travis Beasley and wife Brandi, of Wesson; Johnny Hancock and wife Tonya, of Mize; Andy Hancock and wife Kim, of Laurel; Jason Hancock and wife Rose, of Mize; sisters, Elizabeth Hancock Grubbs and husband Gregg, of Magee; Teresa Hancock, of Mize; grandmother, Myrtis Hisaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Franklin Dewitt Beasley; and grandparents, Jim and Bessie Hancock, Travis Hisaw, Andrew and Alma Smith, and Troy and Arminta Beasley.
Pallbearers were Andy Hancock, Travis Beasley, Jason Hancock, Johnny Hancock, Charles Devrow, and Jasper Cannon.
