Joan McSwain
Funeral services for Mrs. Joan McSwain were held Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek. Mrs. McSwain passed away from this life Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at her residence in Silver Creek. Reverend Mike Sutton and Reverend Trey Spangler officiated. Interment followed in the Scarborough Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Austin Jenkins, Gary Bass, Logan Williamson, George Kunkel, Bobby Jordan and Mike Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Bailey McSwain, Colby McSwain, Jenny Case, Zoey Jare and Lilly Jare.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McSwain was born May 6, 1957 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, to Mr. Wayne O’Brien and Mrs. Marjorie Elliott O’Brien. She was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and one sister, Kathy O’Brien.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Tommy McSwain of Silver Creek; two sons, Jermey McSwain of Silver Creek and Brad (Mandy) McSwain of Silver Creek; one daughter-in-law, Melissa (George) Jenkins of Sumrall; three grandchildren, Austin Jenkins, Bailey McSwain and Colby McSwain; four sisters, Terri Smith of Collins, Nancy (Rick) King of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Marie Oman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Alice (Grady) Saulters of Prentiss; three brothers, Dan (Melissa) O’Brien of Pearl, Bob (Rosalyn) O’Brien of New Eagle, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
