Ann Ray Boyd

Funeral services were held December 22, 2017, for Mrs. Ann Ray Boyd, 79, of Brookhaven. She died at her home December 18. Funeral services were held at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.
Mrs. Boyd was born at Moon Lake and was raised at Cranfield near Natchez. She graduated from Washington High School, Copiah Lincoln Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Her early career was as a licensed lab technician and she worked in hospitals in Natchez, Jackson, Vicksburg and Monticello, where she and her husband moved to raise their two sons in 1964. She worked in her husband’s accounting practice and then later returned to college at USM and earned a degree with honors and awards in interior design. For many years, she operated her own design business. She was very talented and successful at everything she did, especially as a seamstress. She was a member of the Lincoln County Master Gardeners and the Brookhaven Camellia Society. She was a member of the Mississippi DAR. She and her husband returned to Brookhaven about 20 years ago. She would have been 80 on Christmas Eve.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, William A. “Bill” and Inez Hall Ray. She is survived by her husband, Roger C. Boyd of Brookhaven; her two sons, Scott Boyd of Macon and Eric Boyd of Brookhaven; two sisters, Judy Ray Clyburn of Monticello and Sue Ray Windham of Brookhaven; and five grandchildren, Christopher Boyd of Memphis, Natalie Boyd Wamock of Memphis, and Leah Boyd Barry, Jacob Boyd and Gillian Boyd, all of Brookhaven.
