Charles J. Hawn

Funeral services for Charles J. Hawn were held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Jayess Baptist Church in Jayess, with burial following in the Greer Cemetery in Jayess. Bro. Michael Smith and Bro. Harrell Ables officiated the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hawn, of Jayess, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 17, 1939 in Lawrence County to Charlie and Emma Alexander Hawn.
Charles retired from Georgia Pacific after 35 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed his Sunday Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris Hawn; two daughters, Andrea and Alicia Hawn; twin grandchildren, Carmen and Cassandra; three brothers, Jonah, Wesley and John Henry Hawn; and three sisters, Betty Hawn, Bertie Walker and Eudena Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Hawn of Jayess; son, Tim Hawn and wife, Hope, of Monticello; one sister, Gertie Alexander and husband, Howard, of Jayess; four grandchildren, Hannah Bree, Laken, Lucas and Jesse; and one great-grandchild, Brylee Rae.
