Linda Faye Watson Russell
Funeral services for Linda Faye Watson Russell were held on May 4, 2026, at New Hebron Baptist Church, with interment following in the R&W Cemetery in Silver Creek. Rev. Andy Fullington officiated, assisted by Rev. Earl Clark. Mrs. Russell, 77, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord on April 30 at her home in Silver Creek.
Mrs. Russell was carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers, including Jax Riley, Drake Russell, Jaret Crider, Blake Reeves, Tyne Calcote, and Gage Daley.
Linda was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Monticello to JT and Nannie Jewel Kirkland Watson. She attended school in New Hebron and would go on to marry Daniel E. Russell Sr., the love of her life. Together, they raised their family in Silver Creek.
She worked many years as a supervisor, and later advanced to the position of billing clerk, at Buddy’s Jeans in New Hebron and also worked with the United Postal Service, where her diligence and work ethic were highly regarded.
Beyond her career, Mrs. Russell was known for her remarkable skills as a seamstress. She took great joy in making clothes for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, showcasing her talent and deep love for her family. Additionally, her beautiful quilts remain a testament to her artistry and patience. The doors of her home always swung on welcome hinges, and her table was always full of good food, where love was abundant, laughter was in great supply, and precious memories were made. She will long be remembered for her biscuits, fried chicken, and hamburger steak smothered in gravy. In addition, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren fondly recall going to Mawmaw’s house, where she always had snacks for them every time they visited. Mrs. Russell was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Russell Sr.; son, Lance Russell; granddaughter, Jacy Lee Riley; great-grandson, Cruz Lewis; son-in-law, Jason Riley; and her brother, Wayne Watson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Pam Smith (David), of Silver Creek, Amy Riley, of New Hebron; her son, Daniel E. Russell Jr. (Cindy), of Lucedale; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and one expected great-grandbaby; her sister, Pat Nations (Jimmy), of Silver Creek; and her brother, Ashley Watson (Marty), of Oakvale.
