Vitalys Ervin

Vitalys “Vi” Ervin, 94, of Sontag, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. She was born to Harold and Jean Reimann on June 18, 1932, in Michigan. She married the love of her life, Shelby Sherman Ervin, in 1953.

The family has entrusted Wilson Funeral Home with the arrangements. A public visitation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag. Bro Tom Belcher and Bro. Andy Fullington will officiate the ceremony.

Vi loved many things in life, starting with her Savior, her church, and her family. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, her flowers, and her grandkids. She also valued her relationships with her friends.

Vi is survived by her sons, Eddie Ervin, Richard Ervin (Gloria), Randall Ervin (Rene), and Delane Ervin (Sherri); her grandchildren, Kelly (Shayne), Tate (Gina), Will, Natheon (Jennifer), Darren (Courtney), Chad (Kara), Alfred (Becky), Audree, Landree, Marcus (Anna), Amber (Chris), Ally, and Tara; her great-grandchildren, Tristan, Lexie, Trevor, Thomas, Mae, Kaylee, Falynn, Coleman, Madison, Barrett, Ridge, Meredith, June, Daniel, Harper, and Hollyn; two great-great grandchildren, Harleigh, and Krew; and a sister, Debra Hill (Ricky).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Shelby Sherman Ervin; her parents; and her son, Shelby Sherman “Frog” Ervin.
