Milton Bass

Funeral services were held on Feb. 24, 2026, at Hollisday Creek Baptist Church, Carson, for Milton Bass, 72, of Oakvale, who passed away on Feb. 18 at Asbury Hospice House, Hattiesburg. Rev. Robert K. Minor III officiated, with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late L. C. and Annie Lee Bass. He was a member of Hollisday Creek Baptist Church, Carson, where he served as deacon.

Mr. Bass was a retired truck driver who loved sewing, quilting, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Bass, of Oakvale; sons, Secedrick Bass, of Pascagoula; Milton T. Bass, of Collins; Kesyeck “Juan” Bass, of Bassfield; Lavary Betts, of Hattiesburg; daughters, Tashika Bass, of Moss Point; Ruby Rhodes, of Houston, Texas; Ayanna Lairy, of Brandon; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles L. Gray, of Houma, La.; Aurthur L. Polk, of Prentiss; Howard Bass, of Petal; sisters, Nellie Newsome, Ivy Fuselier, and Zenora Wilks, all of Prentiss; and many other relatives and friends.
