Joyce (George) Funches

Funeral services were held July 6, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Joyce (George) Funches, 67, who died June 26 at Marion General Hospital, Columbia.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Funches was born to Robert Taylor and Helen Funches. He attended McCullough High School in the mid-1960s. He was a self-taught mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cameron Henderson; one sister, Louise Parkman; and three brothers, John Lee Funches, M.L. Funches, and Robert Lee Funches.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Griffin; special friend, Barbara Henderson; son, Lontrail (Yolanda) Griffin, of Monticello; three sisters, Gennieve Lindsey, of Silver Creek; Susanne Funches, and Darlene Thompson, both of Chicago, Ill.; and three brothers, Theodore (Debra) Funches, of Jackson, Lawrence (Dora) Funches and Tony Funches, both of Silver Creek.
