Kimble Wallace

Kimble Wallace, 97, of Monticello, was called home from this life on November 23, 2017, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Kimble was born May 5, 1920 in Lincoln County to Laney and Lizzie Creel Wallace.
Services were held Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Wilson Funeral Home with graveside services following in Divide Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlos Dawson and Bro. Bobby Lambert officiated the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Kimble served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific. He was an avid gardener and a wonderful father and grandfather. To his grandchildren, he could walk on water.
Surviving Kimble are his sons, Kimble Wallace Jr. (Kathy) of Monticello and Ronnie Wallace (Sherri) of Jayess; daughter, Shelia Smithie (Bobby) of Jayess; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; a devoted nephew, Paul Wallace; friend and fellow chicken grower Lane Sistrunk and friend and caregiver Charlie Morgan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 75 years, Virgie Wallace; son, Hubert Wallace; daughter, Yvonne Wallace; great grandson Dakota Wyland; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
