Sept. 10
New Zion Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming Sept. 10. The Smith family and Maurice Rutland will sing at 10 a.m. Bro. Earl Clark will be the guest speaker. If you have loved ones buried at New Zion, this is the time to pay for the upkeep of the cemetery. It takes a lot to keep the cemetery looking neat. Lunch will be served at noon.
Sept. 10-15
China Lee M.B. Church will hold its annual Fall Revival beginning Sunday, Sept. 10. Speaker for Sunday morning at 11 a.m. will be Minister Nancy Buckley, and evening speaker at 1:30 p.m. will be Rev. Korey T. Langston, both from New Zion M.B. Church in Oakvale. The speaker for Sept. 11-15 will be Pastor Robert “Chuck” McCall, of Faith M.B. Church in Bogue Chitto. Nightly services begin at 7 p.m.
Sept. 12
Ole Brook Wind Symphony will begin practices for the fall/winter season at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Alexander Middle School in Brookhaven. Anyone who plays a band instrument or percussion is welcome. For more information, email Sandi May at sfm39654@att.net.

Lawrence County High School Class of ’88 will celebrate its 35th class reunion the weekend of Sept. 22. Join the Facebook page, LCHS Class of 88, for more information.
Oct. 11
Lawrence County High School will hold a College and Career Fair from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Multi-purpose Building, 713 Thomas E. Jolly Drive, Monticello. Doors open at 8 a.m. for setup.
