Monticello United Methodist Church will collect a special offering on Father’s Day, June 20, for the Center for Pregnancy Choices of Lawrence County. Members are urged to pick up a baby bottle and fill it with their offering.

The Lawrence County Cattlemen’s Association will host an educational program, “Considerations for Direct Marketing Beef,” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29 at the James E. Givens Agri-building on F.E. Sellers Highway in Monticello. This event will feature a light meal. RSVP by calling 601-587-7721 by Friday, June 25. The guest speaker will be Dr. Brandi Karisch, a Mississippi State University Associate Professor and Extension Beef Cattle Specialist.

Mississippi State University Extension Service will offer an online program via Zoom on from noon until 1 p.m. July 8 on “Lawn Care through the Summer,” presented by Lamar County Extension Agent II Ross Overstreet. Attendees will learn how to keep their yard as healthy as possible during their lawn’s most stressful time of the year. Mississippi State University Extension Service will offer an online program via Zoom from noon until 1 p.m. July 22 on “Gardening with Succulents,” presented by Hancock County Extension Agent Dr. Christian Stephenson. This presentation will include discussion of the characteristics of succulent plants, how to include them in home landscape, as well as a discussion of some common and beautiful succulent plants.
