    Mississippi Watermelon Festival

    The 2019 Mississippi Watermelon Festival is currently accepting applications for arts and craft vendors for July 19 & 20. In its 41st year, the Festival is held in Mize in the City Park with an average attendance of 6,000. The Festival features a 5K run, Car and Truck Show, Biggest Watermelon Contest, and entertainment throughout both days, as well as the arts and crafts. Organizers are also looking for talented artists to perform, so please email your information if you are interested. Space is limited so get your applications in.     ABATE Poker Run

    The Southwest Chapter of ABATE will have a Poker Run to benefit the state organization on Saturday, July 20. They will meet at the Summit Pool Hall in Summit at 11 a.m. and will begin at 11:45 a.m. The benefit is open to the public.     St. James M.B. Annual Fall Revival

    St. James M.B. Church will hold their Annual Fall Revival, beginning Sunday, July 21, at 1 p.m. The guest speaker for the Sunday service will be Rev. Christopher Jones of Greater Mt. Olive M.B. Church. Nightly services will begin at 7 p.m. each evening with a different speaker each night.

    Holly Springs Baptist Church Revival

    Holly Springs Baptist Church is having revival services July 21-24. Rev. Paul Smith of Life Church and formerly of Bethel Baptist in Monticello will bring the message. Rev. Terry Wallace of Oak Grove Baptist Church will lead music.
    Sunday service starts at 11 a.m. with dinner on the grounds to follow and an afternoon service following lunch.
    Services start at 7 nightly, Monday through Wednesday. All are invited. The church is located at 163 Holly Springs Rd., Foxworth. Dave Nichols is pastor.

    North Pleasant Hill M.B. Revival

    The North Pleasant Hill M.B. Church of New Hebron will hold their Annual Revival, beginning Sunday, July 21, with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and evening services at 1:30 p.m. Guest Speaker will be Rev. Michael Evans of St. Paul M.B. Church. Nightly services will be held Monday, July 22-Friday, July 26, at 7 p.m. each evening. The Guest Speaker will be Rev. Terry Davis of First Hyde Park M.B. Church in Jackson.

    Mt. Pleasant M.B. Pastor Appreciation Day

    Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church of Sontag will hold their annual Pastor Appreciation Day, Sunday, July 21, at 1:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Eric Dixon of Oak Ridge M.B. Church in New Hebron. The church is located at 167 Elem Tyler Road.

    ABATE Meeting

    The Southwest Chapter of ABATE will have its monthly meeting at Jeff Price’s Shop, Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. Jeff’s is located eight miles south of Highway 84 at 3326 East Lincoln Road, Brookhaven, on the right. Meetings are open to the public. There will be a check presentation to the SMCAC. All members are urged to be present for the photo.
