Tyrone Porter will present “A Night of Thanksgiving: Old Time Revival”, Saturday, November 24, at the Lawrence County High School Gymnasium, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. The red carpet and pre-show begin at 5:30 p.m. with a 3-Choir Competition. The event begins at 7 p.m., featuring Comedian Jonathan Slocumb, Doc McKenzie & The Hi Lites, The Supreme Angels, Danny Walker & The Fantastic Violinaires, The Kaiser Singers, Pastor Douglas Noel & Friendz and many more! Master of Ceremony is Mr. Larry Armstrong. The night will also include blessing of selected families, door prize giveaways, and a 52″ flat screen television giveaway in the VIP section. VIP tickets are $30 each. Advance tickets are $20 and door tickets are $25. Children ages 6-11 are $5 each, at the door only. Tickets may be purchased at Duncan Chevron on Highway 27 in Monticello. The Copiah County Ministerial Alliance Wives Department will have their annual scholarship program, Saturday, November 24, at 6 p.m. at the Copiah County Ministerial Alliance Christian Center, located at 17160 Highway 51 in Hazlehurst. The speaker for this program will be Sis. Ida Edwards, 1st Lady of Rosemont M.B. Church of Jackson.
Pastor Glen Smith and Fair Hill M.B. Church of Oma will celebrate their 155th Church Anniversary, Sunday, November 25, at 1 p.m. The theme is “We’ve Come This Far By Faith.” The guest speaker will be Rev. Korey Langston of the Divine Faith M.B. Church in Brandon.
