Brookhaven Regional Arts Guild (BRAG) will hold their 4th Annual Art Competition October 3-30 at Lincoln Lawrence Franklin Regional Library, 100 South Jackson Street, Brookhaven. All entries must be submitted in person in the Vernon Room of the library on Monday, October 1. Submission times are 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded during the reception, Friday, October 19, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. For more information, join BRAG on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Charge Conference will be held Thursday, October 4, in Natchez. Monticello United Methodist Church will be taking their van. A sign up sheet is available in the church’s Media Center for those who would like to attend.
Minyette Young, a 2003 graduate of Lawrence County High School now residing in Houston, Texas, will present the Soaring with Eagles Empowerment Conference, Saturday, October 6, at 3 p.m. at the Lawrence County Civic Center. This is a free event and it is open to the public. Young wants to use her success in banking, retail and as a Retail Trainer for Goodwill Industries to inspire the women of Lawrence County and surrounding areas. All female-owned businesses are welcomed as vendors. T-shirts are $15 each. Conference host will be Jennifer Bradley and Keynote Speaker will be Daphne Walker. RSVP on Eventbrite.
The Monticello High School Class of 1978 will hold their 40 Year Class Reunion, Saturday, October 6, at 6 p.m. The event will be hosted by Barney and Jeanne Calcote at 400 Divide Road, Jayess.
