Lillie Mae Johnson

A homegoing celebration for Lillie Mae Johnson was held Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Fair Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Oma. Rev. Glen Smith, Pastor, officiated.
Lillie Mae Johnson was born January 29, 1923, to Julie Ann and N.A. Davis in Copiah County. At an early age, she was united in holy matrimony to Jasper Johnson and to this union 11 children were born. She served many years at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Sontag and later joined the Fair Hill M.B. Church of Oma, where she faithfully served as a member of the choir and Mother of the Church until her death.
She was a devoted and loving wife. Her commitment to family and the community were outstanding. Among her many accomplishments, she served for 29 years with the Lawrence County Transportation System. Lillie Mae Johnson lived a life that will not die, but will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her.
She departed this life Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Johnson; her mother and father, Julie Ann and N.A. Davis; two sons, Wilbert Lee Johnson and Ervin Nathaniel Johnson; two daughters-in-law*; three sons-in-law*; one sister and two brothers.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: her loving children, Doris (Percy) Nichols, Beulah (Cicero) Jefferson, Carolyn (Jay E.) Maye, Maxine (James*) Smith, Mildred (Johnny*) Fondren, Glenda Faye (J.L.) Woodard, Lester (Ray Jean) Johnson, Kenneth (Lorraine*) Johnson, and Jerry (Pearlie) Johnson; her brother, Willie (Jennete) Davis, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
