    South Springhill Baptist Revival

    South Springhill Baptist Church will hold their annual revival, Monday, September 17-Thursday, September 20, at 7 p.m. each evening. The Monday speaker will be Pastor Jermaine Keys. Tuesday speaker will be Pastor Kendon Grant, and Wednesday speaker will be Pastor Sean Coney.

    Active Shooter Presentation

    6:00 pm-7:00 pm

    Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 6 p.m., Mr. John M. Douglas will be giving a presentation on an active solution on a gun shooter. The presentation will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The presentation will be held at VFW 4806, located at 21 VFW Way, Monticello.

    ABATE 30th State Field Meet

    8:00 am-10:00 pm

    ABATE of MS will hold its 30th Annual State Field Meet at the Atwood Water Park in Monticello, Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22. There will be a Battle of the Bands Friday and Saturday nights. Gate opens at 8 a.m. Friday. Advance tickets are available by contacting Carmen Hill at 601-754-8560. Advance tickets cost $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Gate fees are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Ages 6-17 are $8. Children under the age of 6 get in free. Camping spots are available. Poker Run, motorcycle games and a bike show will be held Saturday. This event is family oriented and open to the public.     Huey Williams 80th Birthday Celebration

    Pine Grove M.B.C., 3160 Hwy. 98, Summit, will host an 80th Birthday Celebration for Huey Williams, Saturday, September 22. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The night will feature Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites, Andrew Cheairs & The Songbirds, The Jackson Southernaires, Paul Porter, Stanley “Lil Roy” Ladson and Marva McKinley.
