Bradley Joe Showers

Bradley Joe Showers was born Jan. 23, 1969, in Monticello to the late Wilmon Showers Sr. and Ola Mae Showers. He transitioned from this earthly life on Nov. 16, 2023, at his residence in Texarkana, Ark.

He attended Monticello High School and completed his education at Gulfport Job Corps in Gulfport. He began his career at Brown & Root Industrial Services LLC in 1989 and was employed with various construction companies for over 30 years. Bradley was a hard worker. He was passionate, dedicated, and well-skilled in the field of construction. He was selfless in sharing his knowledge and wisdom to others throughout his career journey.

“Charlie,” as he was affectionately known, was a compassionate and caring father and father-figure to many. He served as a role model and made a great impact on the lives of his family and friends. He was just a loveable person and did what he could to assist others. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and many outdoor activities.

His precious memories will be cherished by three children, Bradkeis Showers, Jalisa Jackson, and Jamiya Garfield, all of Ashdown, Ark.; his loving mother, Ola Mae Showers, Monticello; sisters, Sandy Showers and Linda Davis (Dennis), Monticello; brother, Larry Maye (Angelica), Colorado Springs, Colo.; paternal siblings, Wanda Moore, Georgia Johnson, Lisa, Charles, Shelia, Toni and Yolanda Courtney; two aunts, Earlene Garner and Flora Henry; special children, Titiana Lewis, Rocarius Lewis, Ropauldo Forbes, Kisha Lewis, and Shacretia Forbes, all of Ashdown, Ark.; and Michelle Young, of LaGrange, Ga.; special brother, Vincent E. May, Monticello; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Wilmon Showers Jr.; paternal grandparents, Rodell and Mae Thelma Showers; maternal grandparents, R. D. May and Hattie and Mack Stephens; brothers, Perry Showers and Wilmon Showers Jr.; and sister, Veronica Showers.

He will be greatly missed.
