June total sales tax collections in county up compared to last year
Sales tax collections in Mississippi for June are up from last year.
Total collections for the same month in Lawrence County’s three municipalities are mixed. Monticello and Silver Creek collections increased, while New Hebron collections decreased.
Sales tax collections in Monticello totaled $51,301.91, compared to last year’s $50,188.07. Sales tax diversions paid since the start of the fiscal year July 1, 2023, to the town are $108,242.94, compared to $102,214 the previous year.
New Hebron tax collections were $7,927.78, compared to $8,359.49 a year ago. Sales tax diversions paid since the start of the fiscal year July 1, 2023, to the town are $17,804.98, compared to $17,792.09 the previous year.
Silver Creek tax collections were $2,339.10, compared to $1,886.19 a year ago. Sales tax diversions paid since the start of the fiscal year July 1, 2023, to the town are $50,099.80, compared to $3,939.10 the previous year.
Statewide, collections were $47,604,928.49, compared to last year’s $46,065,218.41. Year-to-date totals are $97,201,072.08, compared to $93,727,625.43 the previous year.
