Carolyn H. White

Carolyn H. White, 88, of Denham Springs, La., formerly of the Nola community, passed away Sept. 15, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Denham Springs. Carolyn was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Nola to Earl and Virgie Mae Herrington.
Graveside service was held Sept. 18 at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag. Bro. Brad Delaughter officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Carolyn is survived by her children: daughters, Melinda Tyrone, Theresa Crosby and Carrie Speights; and sons, John White and Jessie White.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. White Jr.; and brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Ed Herrington.
Ms. White was a gardener and loved working in the garden. She began singing at an early age, played the guitar, and sang with her brother, Ed. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain guests.
