George Anthony Lee Sr.

A memorial service was held for George Anthony Lee Sr. on Aug. 19, 2023, in Chicago, Ill. Geroge died at home on Aug. 6.
He was born in Mississippi to Mary Catherine and Herbert Lee Sr. on Oct. 31, 1956. He was educated in Chicago as a tailor. However, his love for cooking landed him in well-known restaurants. He was known as the pit master preparing the entrée and the sides. George was a kind soul with a beautiful heart. He always made you feel loved.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepfather, and brothers, Herbert Lee Jr. and Michael Taplet.
George leaves loving memories with his son, George Lee Jr.; his significant other, Barbara; grandchildren, Kiah, Kaylah Anderson, Tameka Hayden, Mashyrah Bryant, and Jacory George Lee Joiner; sisters, Charlesetta Blanchard, Sharon Lee, Deborah Lee, Darlene Southward, and Tanya Smith; brother, Maurice Taplet; and other family and friends.
