Charles Vance Turnage

Charles Vance Turnage, 62, of Silver Creek, passed away Aug. 16, 2023, at Southwest Medical Center in McComb. Charles was born April 8, 1961, in England to Charlie and Katherine Rogers Turnage.
A funeral service was held Aug. 19 at Wilson Funeral Home. Bro. Flavol Rester officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Chuck was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed sci-fi shows and “Star Trek.” He collected guns and loved working on many things. He was a gifted carpenter. One of his favorite sayings was, “I’m glad you got to see me.” Chuck loved to joke and laugh a lot. He wasn’t a picky eater. He loved visiting and talking with everybody. Chuck never met a stranger.
Charles is survived by his wife, Yumi Turnage, of Silver Creek; daughter, Ginger Turnage; son, Kane Shiyou; daughter, Maegan Turnage; grandkids, Scarlett, Joseph, and Nora Jacobs, and Mya and Andrew Caldwell; a brother, Curtis Turnage; and a sister, Lelia Sutton.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary McPhail.
