Christine Lee Gardner

Funeral services were held Aug. 12, 2023, at Silver Creek Missionary Baptist Church, New Hebron, for Christine Lee Gardner, 65, who passed away on Aug. 7 in Covington County. Rev. Jerry Bryant officiated, with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She is the daughter of the late Grady Lee and Arletha Gardner. She was a member of Silver Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, member of pastor’s aide, and served on the dinning committee.
Miss Gardner was a caregiver who loved sending Bible scriptures daily to family members and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Johnny Gholar, of New Hebron; daughters, Lafarrah Gholar Newsome and Markita Gholar, both of Prentiss; sisters, Jo (Andrew) Johnson, Rosie Gardner, Eloise Gardner, Earnestine (Freeman) Woodard, and Mary Gardner; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
