Fair Hill M.B. Church in Oma will hold its annual revival services July 23-28. Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. each night. Speakers for the week are: Sunday and Monday, Pastor Fitzgerald May, of St. James M.B. Church in Oma; Tuesday and Wednesday, Pastor Christopher Jones, of Greater Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Oma; Thursday and Friday, Pastor Lionel Corley, of Chapel Hill M.B. Church in Its and Pine Ridge M.B. Church in Harrisville.
July 29
Lawrence County NAACP will host a “Get Out 2 Vote” parade and rally at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 29, in downtown Monticello. Line-up for the parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Rod Paige Middle School. All candidates running for office in 2023 and all citizens of Lawrence County are welcome to participate with trucks, ATVs, cars, and floats for a $25 entrance fee. Fish plates will be sold for $12 with proceeds helping in purchasing back-to-school supplies and scholarships for the youth of Lawrence County. The Lawrence County District Association will present an adult/youth informational forum about narcotics at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 30, at Friendship M.B. Church, 30 Friendship Ln., Monticello during the fifth Sunday fellowship service. Guest speaker will be Steven Maxwell, director of Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Aug. 6-9
Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, 167 Elem Tyler Road, Sontag, will hold revival services Aug. 6-9. On Aug. 6, Sunday school is at 10:30 a.m., followed by worship service at noon and a 2 p.m. service featuring Dr. Robert Loper, of Grace Temple in Vinegar Bend, Ala. Monday to Wednesday services begin at 7 p.m. nightly with Elder Clinton Lewis.
Aug. 11
There will be a Youth Rally at Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church, 761 Pine Grove Church Road, Foxworth, at 7 p.m., Aug. 11. Free afterburner after service.
