Makala Ireon Perkins

Graveside services were held May 27, 2023, at Stewart Family Cemetery, Silver Creek, for Makala Ireon Perkins, 23, who passed away May 12 in Georgia. Evangelist Chandra Davis officiated, with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss Perkins was born in Brookhaven to Annetoinette Monique Stewart and Miquel Perkins. She was baptized at an early age at North Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, New Hebron. She attended Job Corps in Gulfport, received her high school diploma and certification as medical assistant. She was a lash technician and loved knitting. She was a mom to her Yorkie, Carter, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her mother, Annetoinette Monique Stewart, Atlanta, Ga.; father, Miquel F. Perkins, Atlanta; sisters, Maranda Stewart and Christin Bridges, Atlanta; Alyssa Perkins, Killen, Texas; brother, Cassius Stewart, Atlanta; grandmother, Minnie Perkins, New Hebron; one niece, Chloe Taylor; two nephews, Creed Taylor and Apollo Stewart; and many other relatives and friends.
