Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church is having a Puzzling Pyramids Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m., May-June 2 for children ages three through sixth grade. Registration may be done Monday prior to VBS or online at www.forestgrovempchurch.com.
June 4
Monticello United Methodist Church will hold its first youth meeting at 5 p.m., Sunday, June 4, for ages 12 and up. There will be pizza and fun.
The Mission Ministry of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, 167 Elem Tyler Road, Sontag, will present “Go Share the Good News of Jesus” at 1 p.m., June 4. Speakers will be Sister Elaine Franklin, Minister Nancy Buckley, Missionary Cassandra Holloway, and Minister Leetoria Roberson.
June 5-9
Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, 167 Elem Tyler Road, Sontag, will have “Proclamation Safari Park” VBS from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly, June 5-9.
June 10
Lawrence County Branch NAACP will host its third annual Freedom Fund Scholarship Gala at 7 p.m., June 10, at the National Guard Armory in Monticello. The theme for the gold and white affair is “A Call to Action.” Adult tickets are $30, and youth (12th grade and below) tickets are $10. June 11-15
Divide Memorial M.P. Church will host Hero Hotline VBS from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening, Sunday, June 11 through Thursday, June 15. Children will learn about the heroes of the Bible and how they can be heroes, too. Each evening will have class time, music, snacks, crafts, and assemblies. Classes begin at age 3 years. Divide is located just off Highway 27, 11 miles south of Monticello.

Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, serves USDA non-perishable food items from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. Application must be completed for eligibility to receive said food.
Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, Clothes Closet is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. During the month of May, one free bag of clothes/shoes to each person .All sizes of clothing, shoes, toys, household items at very low prices. Come shop for many unique items, too.
