Nancy Sykes

Funeral services for Nancy Louise Daughdrill Sykes were held Jan. 5, 2023, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in the New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. Micah Rutland officiated. Mrs. Sykes, 83, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord on Jan. 2 at her residence in Pinola.
Serving as pallbearers were Joshua Sykes, Devin Owens, C.W. Cole, Greg Cole, Wade Daughdrill, and Greg Berry. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Sykes and Wesley Daughdrill.
Mrs. Sykes was born on July 17, 1939, in Jefferson Davis County to Claude and Louise Cole Daughdrill. A homemaker, Mrs. Sykes loved her family very much. The family relates that she always enjoyed friends stopping by her home for a visit. Mrs. Sykes was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Benjamin Sykes Sr. in 2006. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Todd Sykes; her daughter, Pam Sykes; her grandson, Brandon Sykes; a sister, Betty Barnett; and her parents, Claude and Louise Daughdrill.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her sons, David B. Sykes Jr. (Connie), of Pinola; Tony Sykes (Sandy), of New Hebron; her daughter, Debbie McDaniel, of New Hebron; a brother, Wesley Daughdrill, of New Hebron; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
