Nov. 20
Pen Oak M.B. Church will celebrate Family and Friend Day at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20. The guest speaker will be Rev. Marvin Jackson from St. John National Baptist Church in Columbia.
Monticello United Methodist Church will have Thanksgiving lunch after the morning worship service Nov. 20. Bring a covered dish.
Divide Memorial M.P. Church Annual Harvest Day will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, Special music will be brought by Day Three Trio, of Mobile, Ala.; and the speaker will be Rev. Marc Williams. Divide is located 11 miles south of Monticello just off Highway 27.
Dec. 2
The 10th Annual “The Life of Christ Presentation” will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at Atwood Water Park, 1362 East Broad Street, Monticello. This drive-thru presentation features scenes from the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ, all depicted by volunteers from Lawrence County churches. Admission is free.
Dec. 3
Monticello United Methodist Church will host “Songs of Christmas” on Dec. 3 and is looking for nativities, cookies, and helpers for the event. There is a sign-up sheet in the fellowship hall.
The New Hebron Christmas Parade will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 3. This year’s theme is “Peace, Love, Christmas.”
The Monticello Christmas Parade will be held at 5 p.m., Dec. 3. This year’s theme is “Be the Light.” The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce board would love to see every float and truck lit and shining bright. To enter a float, visit www.LawrenceCountyMS
