Lawrence County Miniature Horse Association show dates are Oct. 22 and Nov. 12. All shows start at 11 a.m. and are held at the James E. Givens Building near the Sheriff’s Department. For more information, contact Dustie Barnett at 601-754-4939.
Oct. 29
The second annual Lawrence County Halloween Block Party will be held at 2 p.m., Oct. 29, at Cooper’s Ferry Park. This event will include trick-or-treating with local businesses, costume contest, small pumpkin patch with painting opportunities, and more.
Monticello United Methodist Church will participate in the Halloween Block Party at Cooper’s Ferry Park at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, with a game and candy in a ‘50s-themed booth. Wrapped-candy donations may be dropped off at the church office.
Nov. 5
Monticello Marketplace will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nov. 5. East Broad Street is expected to be filled with crafts, boutiques, good food, and much more. A vendor booth is $25. Food vendors are $100. To reserve a booth space, visit www.LawrenceCountyMS

Monticello United Methodist Church will hold an All Saints Service on Nov. 6. Contact the church office to add names to the list.
Dec. 3
The Monticello Christmas Parade will be held at 5 p.m., Dec. 3. This year’s theme is “Be the Light.” The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce board would love to see every float and truck lit and shining bright. To enter a float, visit www.LawrenceCountyMS

Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, serves USDA non-perishable food items from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. Application must be completed for eligibility to receive said food.
Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, Clothes Closet is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. All sizes of clothing, shoes, toys, household items at very low prices. Come shop for many unique items, too.
