Jerry Rutland

Services for Jerry Rutland were held Sept. 14 at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, with burial in Powell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family handled the arrangements.
Mr. Rutland, 77, of Jayess, passed from this life, entering his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 11, 2022. He was born June 24, 1945, to James Melvin Rutland and Agnes Marie King Rutland. He was employed as utilities department foreman with Georgia-Pacific in Monticello. He was a member of Tri County Cruisers and an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Rutland found the greatest joy in helping others, being the hands and feet of Jesus, making a difference in the lives he touched. He was a faithful follower of Jesus and was glad to join his faith family in fellowship and worship. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Otis Rutland and Glenn Rutland; and his mother and father-in-law, W.H. “Dub” and Mary Katherine Womack.
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Joyce Ann Womack Rutland; children, Elliot Rutland and wife Jocelyn, and Allen Rutland and fiancé Jenny Smith; six grandchildren, Caroline and Claire Rutland, Addison and Avery Rutland, and, soon to be, Jaxon Barron and Blaire Buckels. He is also survived by a host of family and a countless number of friends.
