Sept. 10
The third annual Tri-County Cruisers Showdown will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 10, on Main Street in New Hebron. There will be music, vendors, food, and fun for everyone. Dash plaques will be give to the first 75 registered entries.
Sept. 11
New Zion Baptist Church will host Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 11. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with the Smith family singing. The speaker will be Bro. Johnny Calcote, with lunch to follow. Homecoming gives the opportunity for donations to the cemetery fund to provide for the upkeep of the final resting place for loved ones.
Sept. 11-14
Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church, located 11 miles south of Monticello off Highway 27, will hold Revival services Sept. 11 through Sept. 14. On Sunday, the speaker will be Rev. Delton Parker at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. After the morning service, a potluck lunch will be held. Services will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. each evening. Monday’s speaker will be Rev. Michael Tullis. Tuesday’s speaker will be Rev. Reggie Smith. Wednesday’s speaker will be Rev. Bobby Dawson. At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the church will provide fried chicken for the evening meal, and those in attendance are asked to bring side dishes and/or desserts.
Sept. 14-18
There will be a gospel meeting with Evangelist Brandon Stephens, of Tebbetts, Mo., at The Church of Christ, 3116 Highway 27 South, Monticello (across from Duncan’s Chevron) September 14 through 18. Meeting times are: Wednesday through Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, call 601-823-9152 or 601-248-1192.
Sept. 18
Monticello United Methodist Church will have a covered dish lunch Sept. 18, following the morning worship service. Bring a covered dish, and enjoy fellowship with church members.
Sept. 24
The second annual Jayess Sunset Jubilee Open Car Show will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Sept. 24, at 584 Woody Road, Jayess. All vehicles welcome. There will be lots of awards, raffles, Bingo, silent auction, door prizes, vendors, and more. All proceeds benefit The Refuge. For more information, contact Missy at 601-757-7944.

Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, serves USDA non-perishable food items from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. Application must be completed for eligibility to receive said food.
Topeka Tilton Outreach Mission, 779 China Grove Rd., Jayess, Clothes Closet is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the first and second Saturday of each month. All sizes of clothing, shoes, toys, household items at very low prices. Come shop for many unique items, too.
