School employees complete leadership academy

May 11 marked the completion of Cohort 1 of the Lawrence County School District Leadership Academy for 12 district employees. The academy was established to prepare, engage, and support educators at all levels with the skills, capacity, and knowledge needed to lead schools and improve students’ academic achievement and overall success. Academy candidates attended sessions once per month throughout the past year and heard presentations from district leaders. Each candidate also completed and presented a Capstone Project at the May 11 meeting. The district thanks Ramey’s of Monticello for providing the delicious cake for the celebration.
