Eddie Wayne Young

Eddie Wayne Young, 67, of Monticello, passed away May 10, 2022, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Wayne was born on June 3, 1954, to Ida Elois Deare King and Diamond Pinkney Young.
A funeral service was held May 13 at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello, with graveside services following in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. John Grimes officiated, with Wilson Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
Wayne enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who collected antiques and liked history, reading, and crossword puzzles. Wayne loved his children, nature, music, animals, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Wayne is survived by his children, Brandi Marie Young Sutton (Dustin), Daniel Wayne Young, all of New Hebron; Matthew Young, of Monticello, Derek Young, of Pearl; and Jennifer Powell Ottaway, of Alabama; grandchildren, Donavon Lomax Young and Daron Lane Young; and brothers, Ronald, Harold, Michael, Kerry, and Kevin Young.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rhonda Grimes.
