Reese A. McRaney

Funeral services for Reese McRaney were conducted Feb. 13, 2022, at New Hebron United Pentecostal Church in New Hebron. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Cliff Hilton and Rev. Bob Jones officiated. Mr. McRaney, 78, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Feb. 9 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Saulters Moore Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Reese Aubrey McRaney was born on Nov. 27, 1943, in Laurel to Eddie and Lucille Holly McRaney. Reese spent the majority of his professional life as an international and domestic oil man. In addition, he was a world traveler, avid fisherman, and cattleman in his spare time. Reese and his wife, Brenda, were members of New Hebron United Pentecostal Church, where they served the Lord for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed visiting and spending time with his grandchildren, working the family land, as well as hunting and fishing. Reese was a loving husband, father, and friend, and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Lucille McRaney; his wife, Brenda Bridges McRaney; his son, Eddie McRaney; sisters, Betty McRaney and Annie Bell Smith; and also a brother, Gerald McRaney.
Reese’s memory will forever be cherished by his daughter, Michelle Jones (Bart), of Hattiesburg; his son, Shane McRaney (Kim), of New Hebron; three granddaughters, Allie Mayers, Sophia McRaney, and Mattie McRaney; a step-granddaughter, Katie Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
