Clarine (Baylis) Thompson

Clarine (Baylis) Thompson passed away on Nov. 25, 2021, in Riverside, Calif., following a short illness. She was born on Feb. 1, 1937, in Monticello to Dock and Beatrice Baylis. Clarine attended McCullough Junior High School, where she was a point guard on the girls’ basketball team. After graduating in 1956, she married Theodore Thompson Sr., an airman in the United States Air Force.
Married for 20 years, together they had Ted Jr., Terri, Tony, Tina, and Tammy. Clarine worked for a short time as a certified nursing assistant, later retiring after 22 years from March Air Force Base Commissary in Riverside as a produce manager.
She is survived by her children, Ted (Debbie), Terri (Tammy), Tony (Patty), Tina, and Tammy; her sister, Henrine Cunningham; brothers, Frank, Robert, Hurriah (Lillie), and Glenn (Karen); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the United Negro College Fund or NAACP.
